Speaker

Matt Webster

Assistant Superintendent

In his 17th year in education, Matt currently serves Schoolcraft Community Schools as the Assistant Superintendent/Elementary Principal.  Matt’s experience began as an elementary teacher and then principal in Huntley, Illinois.  It was there that he and his colleagues developed N.O.W. Academy and helped turn the district’s lowest performing elementary school into the top in three years.

Since arriving in Schoolcraft, Michigan eight years ago, Matt has helped Kalamazoo County with the development of the Southwest Michigan Principals Network for Elementary Principals and Teachstock (an Edcamp like experience for Kalamazoo County K-8 Educators).

Matt’s passions include school culture at SES (“world class” as measured by HumanEx) and, more recently, new school design as Schoolcraft wraps up their bond project and excitedly awaits the opening of their new K-6 Elementary School in 2023/2024.  Matt is also a doctoral candidate at Western Michigan University.

Matt lives in Portage with his wife and two children.
